73.335 Neglected Rustic larva at 12mm long swept from Heather at Norland moor on Mar. 21st 2016.

73.335 Neglected Rustic, full grown larva, May 2nd 2010. One of two swept from Heather on Norland moor in March that year, one adult (below) was successfully reared.

73.335 Neglected RusticJuly 20th 2010. Reared from the larva pictured above.

73.338 True Lover's Knot, one of several to light at Brown Scout Quarry, Widdop, June 22nd 2018.

73.342 Large Yellow Underwing eggs on a Hawthorn leaf found at Tag meadow, Cromwell Bottom, Aug. 11th 2017. This single batch contains 676 eggs which pales in to insignificance compared to the 1,383 that I found on a Hawthorn leaf by the towpath at Copley in August 2010. I wonder what the record is?

73.342 Large Yellow Underwing eggs hatching, Aug. 15th 2017. Four days later and the eggs are hatching in synchronicity - needless to say 600+ went straight back outside to fend for themselves.

73.342 Large Yellow Underwing larva at 4mm, Aug. 30th 2017. One of the above batch grazing on the underside of a leaf - they were all VERY slow growing.

73.342 Large Yellow Underwing feeding on a sugar mixture in the garden, July 26th 2006.

73.343 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing nectaring on the garden Buddleia, July 25th 2006. A rather spooky pair of eyes to the left!

73.345 Lesser Yellow Underwing, July 18th 08. Reared from a pupa unearthed in the garden earlier that summer.

73.345 Lesser Yellow Underwing nectaring on the garden Buddleia (right) along side a Large Yellow Underwing, Aug. 14th 2010.

73.356 Heath Rustic, July 31st 2008. Reared from the larva pictured above. Also commonly swept from Heather on Norland moor in March 2010 and 2016.

73.357 Square-spot Rustic netted at dusk in Bankhouse wood, Aug. 17th 2010. Seems quite regular at this site.

73.358 Six-striped Rustic to MV light at the Cabin, Cromwell Bottom, Aug. 3rd 2018.

73.368 Gothic eggs, on Buddleia in the garden, July 2nd 2011. The only other record was of another batch of eggs also on Buddleia in the garden in Aug. 2009 (see below).

73.368 Gothic larvae 12mm long, Aug. 13th 2009. They usually feed gregariously in tight clumps.

73.368 Gothic, captured on the garden Buddleia, July 6th 2017. After recording eggs on the garden Buddleia twice in years gone by it was nice to finally connect with an adult - perhaps in the act of egg-laying herself.

74.008 Green Silver-lines larva at Robber Dodge wood, Sept. 12th 2017. Found on Beech, this one appeared almost fully grown - I would have taken it for rearing through had I know what it was at the time.
74.008 Green Silver-lines larva (details as above). A close-up of the prolegs.

74.009 Oak Nycteoline, Bankhouse wood, Aug.2nd 2010. Netted at dusk this is my only record.
