A Record Morning At Cromwell

It was June the 29th 2025 and Anthony Arak and Andy Cockroft set 7 moth traps around the visitor centre and North Loop at Cromwell Bottom near Elland. The evening breeze subsided overnight giving way to favourable conditions which resulted in a mammoth 168 species caught which is by far the highest day count I am aware of in Calderdale.
Highlight on the rarity front was an Olive Spinner (Zelleria oleastrella) which constitutes only the second record for Yorkshire.
This is the full list of all lepidoptera recorded that morning.
